Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park takes the visitors through misty rainforests and bamboo covered hills of Virunga mountain range in search of the endangered mountain gorillas. The close encounter with a gorilla family allows for a unique connection, and fosters a deeper appreciation for the research and conservation work of Dianne Fossey and how she had helped transform the perception of gorillas from dangerous beasts to gentle, intelligent beings.
